Does Evil Dead (2013) belong in the Evil Dead Collection?
Wikipedia describes the movie as both a remake and loose continuation of the series, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is a sequel.
I have not seen the film but I was under the impression it was just a remake or reboot given what Bruce Campbell said about the film in an interview. If it's not a sequel it does not belong in this collection.

Hi endtheme,
I think you are right. It doesn't belong into the collection. As I am aware of it IS a remake of 1981 The Evil Dead. I think it stays as a Trilogy and the new one as a single movie until they do for also a sequel.

Right.
This is probably going to be a controversial collection then until their is some kind of collection parts locking mechanism, only because I suspect every time Evil Dead (2013) is removed, someone is eventually going to add it back.
I'm going to remove it, and I suppose we can consider it not part of this collection, unless someone makes a compelling case for its inclusion.

Mike,
The only condition a movie must meet to be included in a collection is that it must be a sequel. The second condition you are citing, "Collections are not mirrors of DVD or Blu-ray box sets, use lists to imitate box sets.", is an example of what a collection should not be, because sometimes box sets are not groups of sequels; sometimes they are an assortment of an artist's work, or an entire catalog of a franchise, such as a grouping of original films and their remakes. As long as the first condition is met, the second can be ignored since it would be inconsequential.
Based on the information I have read, the latest Evil Dead movie is a reboot/remake, not a sequel. Therefore, even if it was released with the previous three Evil Dead films in a box set it would not be a valid collection on TMDB. It does not meet the condition that is a sequel.
If AOD2 is a sequel to AOD (and it seems it will be), then it would belong in the Evil Dead collection. It meets the condition that it is a sequel.
I believe it was decided a while ago that we were going to stay away from words like trilogy and quadrilogy in collection names. That poster that contains the word trilogy was probably uploaded long before that decision was made. Anyone is free to upload another that omits the word trilogy.

The two German trilogy posters are my fault, was not aware that tmdb stays away from words like trilogy. I just wanted to state that this is a three movie collection and not four.
A similar situation to Evil Dead we have with the Spiderman or Superman collections. There are remakes available and this remakes are not part of the original collection there is a new collections available.

Because someone who is not a moderator keeps adding it back to this collection apparently. I removed it just now.
I don't know why AOD2 was removed, but I re-added and locked it in this collection.
Currently administrators can lock movies into a collection, but there is no mechanism to prevent movies from being added to a collection. Until the ticket to do this is completed, it is going to be difficult to maintain consistency among some of the popular controversial collections.
Sorry this was deleted. I recreated it just now, and tried to make the connection between these two films clear in the overview.
Correct.

Offsprung, you would gain a lot by toning down your responses a bit. You don't need to go bat-crazy every time you notice something incorrect or inconsistent.
In addition to this,
it would perhaps be a good idea to make sure confirmed collections can't be deleted.

I'm just saying that while it isn't stated anywhere, users are expected to be civil against each other. You don't have to go Caps Lock every time you write something. You need to tone it down, quite simply.
There are about 30 moderators, but most of them keep a low profile. So while my idea may seem unnecessary, I actually think it could work.

What I meant was that even if the collection is locked, a moderator not being on the same page as the other ones could delete a collection. But if a collection is "confirmed" it means that the moderator would have to bring it up on the internal forum to get some second opinions.
I have also suggested that we should have a changelog so users can find the reasons why content is being deleted (at least for movie entries and collections).
