Except the name Josey Wales ? why is this a collection ?
a shame to associate such an unknown movie with Clint ! just because of the name Josey Wales

The Outlaw Josey Wales is an adaptation of The Rebel Outlaw: Josey Wales (republished as Gone to Texas) by Forrest Carter. The Return of Josey Wales is an adaptation of the book sequel The Vengeance Trail of Josey Wales. So the plot of The Return of Josey Wales is a continuation of the story told in the original film.
I couldn't find much about the production. Interestingly, author Forrest Carter, who wrote the screenplay for The Return of Josey Wales, was actually KKK member Asa Earl Carter.
At this point I can't tell for sure whether they are official movie sequels, tough little seems to link the two movie productions.
