When It Rains, It Pours When It Rains, It Pours, centers around two guys who are both in relationships. One living his girlfriend and another living with a guy, who is his best friend, but he wants more than that. Both of the main guys are unhappy with their relationships and the lack of physical intimacy and when one sends an email to the wrong address, they start to talk and begin an emotional affair, which leads to a one-night stand, which in turn leads to their secret getting exposed. I have to pause here, both of these guys don't think. They spend all of this time unhappy and complaining about their relationships, yet neither one of them talks to their partners about anything; instead they just have this affair! After they are exposed, then they sit with their partners for a heart-to-heart chat. We learn that their partners were also keeping secrets. One of the guys learns that his relationship wouldn't have lasted due to his partner's secret. The other, a more bittersweet one, learns that there was just a misunderstanding and had he just talked to his partner he could have had the kind of relationship he wanted all along! By this point of course the damage was done. Was it a happy ending? Well, for two of the characters it was, but for the other two it ended in heartbreak. I won't spoil it and give away the ending, but again - in shows and real life, communication is key!

Eternal Butler is about a young man who is out of control and his wealthy father brings in an AI human-like butler to try to reign his son in. Of course, as these stories go, it is not long before the son and the butler fall in love. This series had romance, humor and a little self-reflection on the part of the son. However, there was something lacking in the story. There were times it built up to something that could be dramatic and then it never happened. Sometimes the resolution happened off camera and a character just told you want happened. I did like it and I am glad that I watched it, but it really didn't create much of an impact and probably not one that I will remember well. I do like how they do some scenes on the last episode that flashes forward for years showing you the rest of the story as to what happened with the characters.

Caged Again is about a bold little penguin that magically turns into a twink and heads to the local all-boys school, where he meets another boy who is also not quite as human as he looks. Along the way they make some friends, some enemies and a ghost who inhabits a tree on campus and will help them, as long as someone super-glues here statue together. It just gets weird from there. The story is mostly a fun story, with periods of mild suspense, but it ends on a happy note. My issue with this one is the penguin's boyfriend, nicknamed "Sun". This character kills the vibe of every scene he is in for the first 9 parts of this series; there are 10 parts. This is nothing against the actor, but the way the character was written was terrible. I get that he's supposed to be withdrawn and not willing to make friends, but all humor and action stops when he appears and rest of the characters focus is to try to get him to engage with them. Honestly, it just makes the show drag on. It would have been better for the little gay penguin to just explore the world on his own. For the rest of the parts I would give it a 8/10 rating (there were some plot holes), for the parts with Sun, I would say 3/10. Still very much worth watching though.

Our Youth is a story spread out over a period of several years and starts when two guys meet in high school and get into a relationship that they keep secret from everyone. Some spoilers ahead: when one's father passes away unexpectedly (right), it sends him on an emotional tailspin and he goes off alone to deal with his issues. This causes them to lose touch for five years, but then one day they meet back up again and pick up the pieces of their former relationship. The series is good, although a bit slow paced, and it gives you the kind of feeling of a lost love for much of the series. It comes to a point where they agree to get married, but have to wait for the laws to change for that to happen and it seems like that would be the end of the series. However, there is one episode after that deals with their inability to get married and also that they are still in the closet and one is ready to come out, but the other isn't. This is a bit of a contradiction as the one that isn't ready to come out is also the one that wants to get married the most; so the story really ends on a peaceful note, and still happy, but with some issues unresolved.

Love in the Air -Premonition of Love- is an interesting romance story as it is actually the tale of two best friends who fall in love with two best friends; so you get to see the start of two couples' relationship. It starts focusing on one couple and then moves on to focus on the second couple, but by the last episode they pull it all together for a happy ending. It is a rom-com with some action and adventure thrown in. It was a good series and I'm glad I watched it

Blue Canvas of Youthful Days The story revolves around an art school where they are prepping to take an exam that will get them into an art university and most of them are supposed to be about 19 or 20 at the time. The story is a fairly good one, it is romance and drama, with a little bit of action at the end. While it was an enjoyable series, it did run a little slow at times and, honestly, I think it might have been a bit too long for the story they told. Some parts of it were a little boring, but overall I'm glad I watched it and I did enjoy it. The spoilers come toward the end. Throughout the movie there was lack of communication on all of their parts and this ended up causing each of them emotional pain at times; pain that could have been avoided if they had just spoken to each other and said what was happening. The main couple gets separated at the end of the last episode. Then the screen goes black and words appear on the screen telling what happened to them over the next two years or so, then a post-credit scene picks up where they have a chance encounter at some point in the future (at least 2 years after the ending, but probably a bit more). I won't say what happens in detail, but it does end on a hopeful and happy note.

Kidnap revolves around two guys, one (on the floor) who is having serious money problems due to his younger brother's health issues, and the other guy (on the bed) who is pretty isolated and the son of one of the police leaders and often finds himself the target of his father's enemies. Desperate for money the guy kidnaps the son, but when the assignment changes to terminate him, that was more than he bargained for and he then becomes the son's protector. In time a romantic relationship forms and they go to great lengths to help each other. This is mostly action, adventure and a little intrigue with a dash of humor. Some of the trauma that they've both experienced is told through flashbacks, so you don't know exactly what the issues are right away. For the most part I enjoyed it a great deal and it does have a happy ending. There are a few minor plot holes, but nothing so bad as to take away from enjoying the series.

Happy of the End is the story of two extremely emotionally damaged guys who get together after enduring horrific childhoods. It is dysfunctional and difficult to watch in places and clearly won't be for everyone. Both of the characters should really be getting intensive therapy for their issues. I don't know if I would call this a love story, although they do get together, it's not really a healthy relationship.

The On1y One is the story of two guys in their junior year of high school who end up as step-brothers and in time a more serious bond develops between them, which is slowly leading toward romance. A little spoiler ahead. The good, it is a well told story with several subplots and actually they have a straight best friend who adds a lot of humor to the series, I wish they had done more with him. Then there is end of episode 9 and if you know, you know - if you don't know, you should watch it. It is getting some flak due to the casting, the 2 main stars are supposed to be 17, but one is 30 and is 29 in real life (one has so much make up on to hide where he shaves you can see it caked on his face during most of the scenes), but the actors did an excellent job and they shouldn't be getting grief over that, if you can move past this you will enjoy it. The annoying, the series doesn't wrap up any storyline, not the main one or the subplots - from what I've read the director is angling for a second season so every single storyline was left open! Which was quite frustrating.

First Note of Love is a nicely done rom-com that tells a tale of love, healing and self-worth while mixing in helpful dose of comedy along the way. I won't give much away, but basically it's about a guy (right) who was in an up-and-coming band with his brother, but when the brother lost his life in a car accident, it destroyed his life as well. The story starts six years after the accident and the guy is about to lose his contract as he hasn't produced any new music when his agent (and friend) brings in a slightly younger composer to help get him back on track. At first, they don't get along too well, but in time their partnership goes beyond just writing music and it blossoms into a wonderful romance. Along the way the guy finally heals from his brother's passing and he, in turn, helps the younger guy overcome some of his own issues as well. This is just a feel-good series that wraps everything up and tells a complete story and is well worth watching it. Just so you know, there is a bonus scene at the end of the last episode that plays during the credits, so you don't want to miss that one too if you watch it.

Cosmetic Playlover is about two guys working in the make up industry who eventually become a couple and move in together. The good, it's a nice story and well acted with a cute cast. For me the not so good, the story jumps through time which one star narrates and it actually covers about two years of their lives. It also has a lot of plots changing throughout the story, making it feel kind of rushed and I didn't feel as much of a connection to the characters that I normally do. I liked and enjoyed it and glad I watched it, but not one that made a lasting impression.

4MINUTES is a complex, complicated and at times confusing story of two brothers whose family is secretly running a criminal empire. If you are looking for a rom-com, this isn't it. [Spoilers] The older brother is bi, but the younger brother (who is the main star) is gay and he has the power to see 4 minutes into the future, or so it seems. He also gets a boyfriend who is very caring, or so it seems. What really is happening is that the brother isn't really seeing ahead in time, he's actually having a near-death experience and reliving his life and wishing he had made different choices. The first 5 episodes are showing his scenes as he remembers them with changes he would make and some reality mixed in. The scenes with other characters are actually happening. Then episode 6 shows what really happened with him. Also, there is a killer on the loose and episode 7 finally reveals who that is and his origins. Then it goes on to focus on the boyfriend, who is now having his own near-death episode and we see his view of things. Finally, in the last part they try to pull this all together and wrap up all subplots. For most characters it is not a happy ending and not all of them make it to the end. For the brother and his boyfriend? Well, it's happier than the other characters, but I wouldn't say it was really a happy ending. It was a thought-provoking story and a good watch, but you really have to see all 8 parts to fully understand what was happening.

Century of Love this one has some serious Beauty and the Beast vibes. You have one guy (right) who fell in love with a girl, but when she lost her life a mystic put a curse on him to live for 100 years where he would suffer great pain until he could find her reincarnated and she would have to be the one to feed him the magic potion to lift the curse and they could then live their rest of their lives together. As time is running out, he meets a boy (left) and believes that is the girlfriend reincarnated. At first he's repulsed by the idea, but in time he changes his mind and they get together. However, not long after that a woman shows up who might really be the reincarnated girlfriend. I won't give spoilers to what happens, it is a good story with romance, magic/mystical themes with action and adventure. It is not really a comedy, although there are some mildly humorous parts. As for the ending, some have a very happy ending and for some not so much as they don't make it to the ending. Spoiler: the only thing that I didn't like: this series is about 10 hours in total and it is entirely based on the question, 'who is the real girlfriend' and then they blow the ending and they end it in such a way that the viewer doesn't learn who is the 'real girlfriend'. That was extremely annoying and disappointing, so while you get a good story, you never get a complete story and you don't know any more on the last episode than you did on the first.

I Hear The Sunspot I would sum this up as wasted potential. It is 12 parts and the first 6 parts are wonderful in showing the beginnings of a charming romance between a hearing impaired student and the friend he makes and catches feelings for. Then I have no idea what they were thinking, but parts 7 to 11 hardly had the guys together, only a few brief scenes and then the last half of the last part they get back together after a chance meeting. Really, who thought it would be a good idea to tell a gay romance story and then have almost no interaction between the guys for more than half the series! This could have been great, but honestly by the time you get to the last part the emotional impact is gone.

The Rebound was an incredibly good series, it has action, adventure, romance and humor and it was well worth the time watching it! It's about two star basketball players who lost touch a couple of years ago, but a chance encounter reignites the feelings that they once had for each other and never acted on. The fact that it has a cute cast, many shirtless scenes and a few "cheeky" scenes too doesn't hurt either!

Living with Him is the story of two guys that were best friends in elementary school, but difted apart as they got older. Their moms stayed in touch and arranged for them to share a room during their first year of college. It turns out that one of them always had a crush on the other and in time they both feel the same way. It is a cute romance. At the end it's a little vague if their families know if they are a couple or just roommates.

Mary & George is a very gay-heavy historical fiction story about a mother who pushes her son to become the bed-warmer for the king of England. While this is based on real people and events, some very accurately, there is definitely some creative license taken as well. This is a dark story with many characters and subplots; and while there is much history involved, it is first and foremost a gay story. I've been following the main star since Handsome Devil and this is the first time he really showed more than just being shirtless, which was a nice surprise. What I didn't care for were several scenes of extreme gore/grafic violence and also the way some parts of the story were handled, it was very disconnected at times. While I did enjoy parts of it, it is not one I would watch again.

Although I Love You, and You? Is the story of a businessman (right) who is transferred to his company's office in a smaller town for an assignment. While there he meets the owner/cook at a small restaurant (left) and in time an unlikely relationship develops. For the cook, it was love at first sight, but for the businessman, he was very unsure of his feelings. When he is called back to his office sooner than expected, this creates a difficult situation for the new couple. I won't give away spoilers, but it does end on a hopeful and kind of happy note. In reality though, if this were a real couple and not a story, I don't think they would go the distance.

I Became the Main Role of a BL Drama was actually a fairly humorous series featuring two actors playing the roles within the series. One is a child star who is getting older and taking on more grown up roles, but he has a lot of self doubt. The other is an up and coming star, who is secretly in love with his co-star, who he has been following for years. While not trying to be overly funny, there is a lot of humor to it and it's pretty enjoyable.

Twins I found it to be a very good series, it's 12 parts, but well worth watching. It's about two twin guys, one called Zee who's straight and mean to everyone, just for the sake of being mean. Then there's his twin, called Sprite, who's gay and friendly and outgoing. I won't give much away, but when Zee is hurt his bother takes his place on his professional volleyball team. While there Sprite falls for one of the teammates and complications arise. There are a lot of characters and many subplots and other gay guys on the team too, so it's very heavy on gay stories. The only thing I didn't like (spoiler) is that the team never finds out that it was really Sprite in disguise. You kind of wait for it, but it never happens.

One Room Angel was a very enjoyable series and had quite a bit of humor mixed in, even though it dealt with some very deep and sensitive emotional issues. However, I'm not sure that I would classify this as a gay story, it is more like a bromance. A guy in his early 30's and down on his luck finds an angel with amnesia in his apartment and in trying to help him, he also helps himself. From what I read about this, it was based on a story & in the story it was a romance, but this version there was no romance, in fact neither character's orientation is revealed, it's just a very strong friendship.

If It's with You is the story of two high school guys; one gay and one not quite sure of what he wants and they meet at school and a friendship develops. Near the end of the series they do get together for a happy ending. This is a more light-hearted look at first romance and it was wonderfully done. The series is short at only five parts and part of me wishes it was longer to learn more about them, but the other part of me is happy that they wrapped everything up and told a complete story without any subplots left open.

Crazy Handsome Rich a series that wrapped up recently. I have to say that I found it rather lackluster, you don't really know what is really going on until the final episode. For most of the characters we had little idea of what their motivation was and even after it was done there were still unanswered questions; on top of that was their attempted humor that seemed to fall a little short.

My Personal Weatherman is basically a story of domestic abuse and I hate to say it - but very little character development. (Spoilers) You have one guy basically controlling the actions of the other guy and while there is attraction between the two of them, this is a very unhealthy relationship. Watching this you keep hoping that the abuser will change his ways or the victim will stand up for himself, but neither happens. On the last episode it is just another day in very sad cycle that they are in and neither is any better off than when the series started.

Stay With Me was an incrediblely good story with 24 parts in the first season, which ends on a cliffhanger and we are forced to wait until season 2 to see what happens. There was a lot of debate on this one online as to if it was a love story or just a bromance story. It is a love story that is not rushed and unfolds over time as our two stars start off as enemies and slowly become friends before something more meaningful develops. The first on screen kiss doesn't even come until episode 22, although you get the feeling that something might have been going on behind the scenes before that. This series also has action and intrigue which is often missing from gay cinema. By the time you finish the series you really care for the characters and hope that everything will be all right for them.

Stay by My Side was actually a really enjoyable series with a lot of humor mixed in. Especially the potato chip scene early on. At this time there is a meteor headed towards Earth and they have ten days before all life is wiped out. They decide to use this time to get a stranded teenager home so he can be with his family. The New Employee is the story of a recent college graduate (left) who gets a three-month internship at an advertising company and while there he falls in love with his direct supervisor (right). Now maybe it's me, but there were some parts of this that didn't seem all right with me. The boss makes the first moves with touching and kissing the employee; maybe it's a cultural difference, but here in the USA that just wouldn't go over well! I know it's from a different culture, but it still didn't seem right. The story wasn't a bad one once you get past that, but a lot of it was left undeveloped. They introduced other plot points throughout, but didn't really develop many of them. I think if they had the characters would have seemed 'more real', but to me they came off as not too deep. Nothing against the actors, they were fine - I just think it had the potential to be more than it was. To me it wasn't a bad series, but not a really memorable one either.

Candy Color Paradox is the story of two reporters who are assigned to work together, and they don't really like each other at first. Of course that changes over time. The series was about half romance and half of them actually working, and surprisingly one of them smokes (cigarettes) through the series which you never see in thes types of shows. While the acting was good, there was no real feeling of romance or passion in the script, it seemed more matter of fact that they worked together so they got together. Till the World Ends Spoilers ahead, seriously, I'm going to give away the whole ending, so you might not want to read. This is a story set against the backdrop of a world about to end in natural disaster. This is a suspense/thriller and falls just short of a horror movie. Yes, there are gay characters, but if you are looking for a good series, a feel-good rom-com or meaningful romance, this is not it! Two of the gay couples are already together & they are part of a cannibal gang terrorizing the area. The other two do get together during the series, but it was only after one tried to kill the other, then had second thoughts and held him captive & tried to convince the victim that he was actually his savior. This series is all very dark, sad & gives you the feeling that everything is hopeless. Also, not one single character survives to the end of the series. Some go in very gory ways, it is very disgusting and disturbing to watch. The series ends when the lives end of the last two characters left. Then to add insult to injury, if you stay watching there is a post-credit scene on the last episode that reveals that one character (in the pink shirt) dreamt the entire thing. None of it was real, it was all a dream, in fact we don't even know if the other characters even exist. So basically, this is 10 45-minutes parts and none of it happened! Not one I would watch again, that's for sure; but maybe that's just me - I don't like violent stories.

Minato's Laundromat was a wonderful rom-com about an older-younger relationship between two guys and it is well worth watching. In this case the younger one pursues the older one, who is actually less emotionally mature, but with determination and patience it comes to a very happy ending. Of course, they do have some hurdles to overcome to get this this happy ending. There is also a charming subplot with a mutual friend, whom the younger guy finds annoying at times, but the friend is actually going out of his way to help them get together as a couple, and he adds humor to the show too. My only issue is the way that they market this, almost everything you read describes the older one as "middle-aged". Um, he was 28 when the series started. I don't know of anyone that views 28 as middle-aged!!! I actually didn't watch it at first because I wasn't sure that was a story I wanted to see, but I'm glad I did.

Right before school lets out for the summer, one of the guys confesses his feelings for the other, and he wants to be more than friends. Gameboys 2 normally I don't post about different seasons of the same show, but this one was different. Being in the US for a long time the only thing you could get was the Gameboys movie, which was season 2, but with lots cut out. Finally they released the season here and it explained a lot about some things cut from the movie. More makes sense now. Most importantly is the post credit scene of the last episode, it completely changes the ending of the movie and puts a whole different spin on the season and the movie. I won't say much here, but this entire series is extremely powerful and moving and one of the best gay stories told.

Love in Spring Spring of Crush, or some sites call it Spring of Love, is marketed toward a gay audience, but it really isn't a gay story. It is a very good story with some comedy, mystery and intrigue, but really not much in the way of romance. I won't give much away, and it is also a very complex story so it does take some effort to follow along with some of the plotlines they have. It's about a guy (right) was forced to be a slave and it opens with him escaping from his captors, the how and why is explained slowly through flashbacks throughout much of the story. Through a series of odd plot twists, he ends up hiding for a year as a woman in a nearby town when he is forced into a marriage to a guy (left). Eventually, but not right away, the truth comes out and in time they do become really good friends - but that's it, just friends (really). The gay story? Well, the guy's former captor has a son with severe issues who is seemingly in love with the escapee. Now I have to pause here; this is period-piece, but in today's world the son would probably be committed as he was a danger to himself and others, but he clearly is unhinged. There is a very good chance the son is gay, or it could just be a deep connection he feels to his former captive, it's hinted that he's gay, but nothing is clearly defined. That's kind of a very minor subplot and I'm not sure that would really qualify as saying that this is a 'gay series'. No other character is gay and two main stars are not. However, if you do watch it - you do get a very good story.

Mr. Unlucky Has No Choice but to Kiss! was a light and humorous short series about one guy with very bad luck and one with incredibly good luck and then they get together. While the unlucky one was a bit overly dramatic it really was a good series. My only problem is that it leaves you wanting more, basically the whole series was just them coming together and then it ends

Heartstopper I just got around to watching this now - I actually am late to the party and just joined up with Netflix this week. This is just such a "feel good" series I understand why everyone likes it so much

DNA Says Love You wow - this one is hard to define. I can tell you one thing, for people who say their relationships are 'complicated', it will never be as complicated as this was. I can't really review this one without giving away the entire story, and I don't want to do that. I will say that it is 12 parts and the first 8 parts are all set up and the main story doesn't actually get started until episode 9. I will say that in the beginning you aren't really sure which way the story is going to go. Sometimes it's a gay story, sometimes not so much - with a bit of mystery thrown in. If you stick it out and watch the whole thing, you will be rewarded with a good, thought-provoking story with a happy gay ending.

In Your Heart is the story of a small friend group, two of whom knew each other since they were children (the two right most); and it takes place in their final year of high school. The two childhood friends are both attracted to each other, but it takes them a long time to accept that and even longer to act on it. There is a subplot where the two other friends might be more than friends too, or maybe not - that was one downside to this series, they never reveal the end of that subplot, so we know one guy was interested, but we don't learn if the second one was or not. The story was a bit chopped up in places, it starts with a fight between the couple and flashes back to get you to the beginning of the fight, which takes you to episode 7. We also learn that whole story is being told by one of the guys telling what "happened a few years ago". The good, it's a very good story with a fair amount of humor and some romance. Not so good, it's not a happy ending, but it is a hopeful one. The bad, they don't really wrap up any storyline. The subplot is just kind of forgotten about (with the other friends) and the couple's issues aren't resolved; even though this story took place years in the past the one guy narrating it doesn't reveal what finally happened. It was worth watching, but it leaves you with massive amount of wondering what ever happened to the characters. There was clearly more story to tell than what they touched on.

Mr. Cinderella actually turned out to be a very good story. The first episode (of 8) was a little off-putting, but the rest made up for it. It had romance, humor and some action and it was well worth watching! It's about two former childhood friends that reconnect many years later, but something is off and they struggle to figure out what the connection actually is. The only issue I had with it (and I'll try to do this without spoilers) in episode 7 one of the main characters and his brother are being chased by guys who want to beat them up and when they catch up it cuts away. Then they don't appear for a few scenes, but went they do it's like that never happened. Then the reference something revealed at the fight, then they show you later in episode 8 a flashback that showed what happened. It really broke up that part of the storyline and made it where you weren't sure what exactly happened until right near the end.
