Remarkably unfunny film, as I remember... there was just one gag with a flying turkey that almost made me laugh, but the overall context of the movie made that sink like a plumber too. Shelley is herself comic genius on that TV show about the bar, but here, she just seems to fall flat.
Booo!

If you've ever lived in/had to deal with an older house in constant need of repair/modification, you might feel differently. I, for one, found The Money Pit hilarious.

@northcoast I'm not far from that kind of a situation at the moment! Of course, to each their own when it comes to humor. Who's your favorite director of comedies, if you have one?

Too each their own, but I love this movie!
"The union forces me to let you go to lunch in spite of the way you played. Those of you with a conscience won't be able to eat; those of you whose conscience matches your talents, go stuff yourselves, I hope you choke."

That would be the Coen brothers (Raising Arizona, Fargo, The Big Lebowski). "Bent" humor. Although generally, I'm not a fan of comedies (really like the dry humor of the U.S. Office television series, however).
But yeah, if I had to choose comedic film directors, it would be Ethan and Joel Coen.
