Why did Dr. Death even have a voodoo doll of himself?

I think he used the doll on himself in a positive way. Like he dropped a coin on its head and that made money come to him, or something like that. For pleasure or for healing of sorts like treating an injury. I think its either chucky stole the dr's mojo unknowingly doll or he used his knowledge to forge another.
