Time for a remake?

Is it time for a reinterpretation or a remake of this?
Setting it in contemporary times, with social media, even more centralised control of mainstream media and with celebrity culture and identity politics dominating the culture… It's been over 40 years since the original...
I think it would be great… I wonder what director/writer combo would be able to tackle it though… Sidney Lumet/Paddy Chayefsky was such a great combo...

I saw this movie for the first time only a couple of years ago and it quickly became one of my favorite movies of all time! I think it has some of the best acting, writing and directing ever put on screen.
I don't think it'll be remade anytime soon. Not by a major studio atleast, without it being dumbed down and the language cut out for pg-13 rating. Maybe as a netflix series, it'd find it's intended audience better these days.
It's almost scary how much the ideas and predictions of this movie are still relevant to this day!
