I just now checked YouTube, to see if there might be a clip that includes that, though no luck.

Hey Thankyou for trying to help. I have searched for the scene and just can’t find it .... I could almost swear that I saw this character standing by the river and playing an instrument and singing a song .. a friend who was watching at the time remembers it too ... when I look back at the movie now .. the character just plays the instrument briefly and doesn’t sing. Hey if you find the scene that would be fab .. thanks so much 🤗

Good find, brat! I earlier tried typing in the movie's title, plus "Will Scarlett", and nothing came up that looked right. Then I tried again with the movie title and "Alan Hale", then "Patric Knowles", though again no luck. Whatever you typed in was the perfect thing!

The Adventures of Robin Hood + songs + Will Scarlet

Most of the things that came up were about the soundtrack (which went nowhere), then a bunch of stuff pertaining to the TV show, & even one from the Costner abomination (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves). I just looked around a bit & found that clip.

I couldn't remember Will Scarlet (a.k.a. Will of Gamwell) singing, so I rewatched that scene. He was (pretend?) playing a lute in the background, but there was no singing.

The length of the film, that I watched, is 1 hour and 42 minutes. The same as mentioned on other movie sites, so (probably?) no edited or deleted part of that scene.

Nightingales were singing and owls were hooting - singing him to sleep - the night before, but Will didn't join in.

Thank you all for helping. I also found the scene where Will plays the lute but doesn’t sing ... but that isn’t the scene that I’m thinking of!

Here is a link to the whole movie (free). Fast forward to 21:00. That is where the scene with Robin fighting Little John starts (it ends at about 23:30), but he doesn't sing at all. He just 'pretends' to play the lute.
