Even though it's not listed as action on IMDb too (for which I hold one of the users responsible), it's actually a sci-fi action film. The genre needs to be listed again, as I can see it was listed before but some editors got carried away by what just one user said. Genres are subjective, but you can't be WAY TOO subjective.

Hi, Jagan. I don't know anything (at all) about this. But I noticed the subject line of this thread, so popped in to see what you wrote.
Upon reading your post, I looked around a bit and noticed there's the following content discussion thread, about the genres matter. In case you hadn't noticed it, here's the link: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/17654-district-9/discuss/590aa9cf9251414fa800c65f

I have read it and it's incorrect. A few people have made a decision and even that is not correct.

You can re-open that discussion and add a comment. Maybe the mods would be willing to make the adjustment.

I can do that but I don't want to argue with those who have their personal definitions of a genre.

I can't say for Fight Club since I haven't seen it but I'm absolutely sure for District 9. It's not just science fiction. It's sci-fi action.

This isn't a sci-fi film IMO. It's a movie about the military-industrial complex.
