No, it's not Out of the Past but man the two leads (three leads!) are just at the top of their game. Not pure noir, more comedy and crime. I just love this one.

I'm glad that this time the characters played by Robert Mitchum and Jane Greer ended happily together , instead of meeting with their deadly fate in the highly acclaimed film noir "Out of the Past (1947)".

a pretty good double feature for a rainy day, right?

That's a great idea. So, which would you watch first?
It'd be interesting to see how the actors portray the characters in these two movies.
Although one story is multilayered and complex, while the other is much simpler, both involve the chase and reovery of stolen money.
And ultimately both end in a shootout, but with a different outcome.

A punchy little chase film, a coherent plot, humour, five well fleshed out characters, good performances and a touch of romance. What's not to like?

Yup. exactly. A go to of mine for a light crime film.
