One of my favorite Twilight Zones was called "Button, Button" starring Mare Winningham. So when they made a movie based on that Twilight Zone I could not wait to see it. It starred Cameron Diaz. It was so bad I could not even watch the whole thing. Any movies you were really looking forward to but they were terrible?

Ugh, me too. It was the 80's reboot of The Twilight Zone! I loved the twist: "It'll go to someone you don't know."
I figured this movie would botch it, given that you can't make that episode 90 minutes long, but they botched it, big time. Awful flick.

I only saw it when it came out... I remember it coming tantalisingly close to good... the first two thrids are pretty gripping, but the ending kinda makes it a bit average...
Still.. I'd rather filmmakers try and fail hard, rather than aim for average.... I think they tried here.

I remember original "The Twilight Zone" episode, "Button, Button," which was a short, intense dialogue about morality and had an open-ended finale. The movie made this a "rats in a maze" trial administered by "parties unknown," but I sensed that "Klaatu and Gort" nearby. It was...open-ended for the characters, but not for the audience. I wonder what Roger Corman could have done with all of these resources? Certainly a more interesting movie at much lower cost. Basically, I hear the ghost of Ed Wood going ROTFLMAO over this production.
