If you're keen to watch anime series, there are tons of coming-of-age no magic slow paced ones. Can be relaxing to watch with gorgeous art & landscapes.
Thanks, guys. Lots of those look really interesting.
I've seen Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. SA was especially awesome.
I've also seen The Wind Rises and Only Yesterday. Only Yesterday is the kind of film I'm talking about. I like the one's that are subtle but still get the emotions going.

That's exactly what I liked so much about When Marnie Was There. It was very relaxing, then the last half hour was gripping.
I do like the look of The Red Turtle. The artwork looks very original. Think I'll definitely be checking out Song of the Sea, Poppy Hill and Ocean Waves too.

I don't watch a lot of anime, but all the studio ghibli animes are pretty good: Spirited Away, Ponyo and Howl's Moving Castle are the ones I've seen.
Other ones not incorporating traditional japanese animation: The Red Turtle, The Secret of Kells, Long Way North, Song of the Sea
I haven't watched Kubo and the Two Strings yet.

Yes to Poppy Hill & Wind Rises. You can also check out:
Only Yesterday, Ocean Waves and Whisper of the Heart- though there are some fantasy scenes but just imagination anyway.
