If there's a better scene of someone quitting their job, I don't know what it is! I want to cheer when Joe walks out of that dismal office for the last time.

Best scene ever. I don't know how anyone could have worked in such a depressing atmosphere and dump of an office.

Without killing themselves? Me neither.
Most offices aren't THIS bad, but I did enjoy how it painted an extreme picture of office life: the lack of sunlight, the bad coffee, the repetitive tasks, the broken coworkers. So good.
On the flip side, I love the scene where he's dancing on the boat and you know he finally feels free and happy.

Actually it's not that extreme. I used to do a lot of temp work, a couple of jobs I literally walked out of, because of depressed atmosphere. One job in particular, the people wouldn't even lift their heads up to say good morning.
Yep, Joe got his life and dignity back, plus met a lovely woman. I've lost count of the amount of times I've watched this movie over the years..

The scene that sticks in my mind, is when he's on the raft, and the moon rises. It seems huge and magical and gives me chills.
