A really solid story, a real straight shooter. No theatrical acting, no overblown soundtrack or action and no excessive footage of scenery. Just a couple of main characters, with a story to tell. I'm definitely going to have to prioritise some of director Anthony Mann's other work.

I can only agree with that. A solid film. Love me some good Henry Fonda time. :) Although, I didn't care much for the performance of Kip. However, that's usually how it goes with child actors, especially from this time.
