I saw Bambi when I was about 3 or 4 years old and I'd have to say it put a gloom over my childhood for quite some time.
It ruined my childhood without even having seen it!
In all honesty, knowing that his mother was going to die, I never wanted to see the movie as a kid. The Viewmaster slides I got as a gift were enough.
Definitely not! It made me sad, yes, but it's always been one of my favourite movies!
No... I'm not sure how introducing death in a movie, especially done as thoughtfully as Bambi does it, can ruin one's childhood >_<
Not at all. Sure, the climax was very dramatic and sad, but everything else had a cuteness factor times ten.
Maybe I was an overly sensitve child....
Well, I've never been able to watch it since, so I guess there's your answer.
