I found it an interesting allegory for childhood trauma; mid-life crisis; losing your way; and fighting back. I also thought it was a decent (although not great) sci-fi concept. But hey, that's just me!
I rented it out of the redbox for $1.50 and luckily the disc was scratched to s hit and kept skipping around. That shaved about 15 minutes of the 1 hour and 45 minutes run time. I watched about an hour and a half. Just the hour and a half I watched was torture enough.
I watched it on a flight and it held my attention for a couple of hours. Anne Hathaway was good but some of the other performances were unimpressive (Jason Sudeikis and Dan Stevens were particularly poor). While I admired what this film was trying to do - it was an audacious idea, no question - it didn't really work as a whole and, as noted above, couldn't settle on a tone. Not a complete waste of time, but largely forgettable.

Even the trailer looked bad.

It was highlighted on a torrent site. Probably cuz it was a digital copy, not a cam. Only reason I downloaded it. I want my bandwidth back... :P

I'm 10 minutes in, already regretting it.
