Forget about how the narrator just doesn't sound right, or how the new music is a huge letdown when compared to the original...even when I put all of that aside; the political correctness makes this new movie pretty sickening. Rather than the Grinch's heart being way too small, there's other reasons given as an excuse as to why the Grinch is mean. This time they go back to childhood stories as a reason to feel sorry for the Grinch because today everyone is a victim, so that makes the Grinch an ok guy. The Grinch is no longer really mean to the dog. The dog in this movie gets to make up his own mind if he wants to volenteer to pull the sleigh or not. When the dog volenteers to pull the sleigh, there is no more feeling sorry for the dog. I know there's more, but it's been a while since I've seen this movie.
When those types of elements are taken away; the meaning of the story is softened, not as focused, nor as impactful.

NOT A WORD OF WHAT YOU SAID HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH POLITICAL CORRECTNESS OR MAKES MUCH SENSE FOR THAT MATTER.
