I've always found it hard to believe that this flick got away with a PG-13. Anyone understand why? LOL

The definition has changed. Everything has become stricter and more PC. PG-13 now means something else then when it was first introduced.

Possible Spoilers Nudity and crude sexual scenes, particularly during the first transformation (we actually see Dr. Jacks's crotch deflating) and final transformation (Helen Hyde getting an erection).

Well, yeah, some find it difficult, as men, to remain "mature" when a scene in a film attempts to titillate, and succeeds.
It's just how we are programmed.

I'm not saying audiences are... I'm saying that the rating people don't think that people can handle it anymore... especially anything sensual... pretty disappointing state of affairs... we end up with very sanitised films now that have to conform in order to get a PG-13 rating and not be hit with an R...

On the flip side, if I'm watching a film with my parents, the last thing I want is a sex scene playing out.
A more cautious rating system can be a positive thing.
