I was going to say "ghetto"...lol. But truth be told, I grew up in 1980's Brooklyn, NY in the slums of East NY & I can't even IMAGINE anyone "coming out" in that type of "street smart" environment, I don't recall another movie touching on this theme so kudos to the writers & filmmakers for touching on this. I myself was "bullied" for being smart in school, so it hit home a little bit and worked my feels fo sho!
