At least there was one character with a remotely authentic facial blemish in this film. I think they pulled their punches a bit with the cosmetics on August.

Given the age of August as presented here I think they could have sought out and cast a non-actor in the lead role. But maybe we aren't collectively ready for that and maybe that is partly the point of the film.
