Discuss Little Nothings

(No spoilers in OP)

This took me a while to get into, and in fact I shut it off twice but I'm glad I finished it. The premise seems like the standard "Bad News Bears" story about a bunch of misfits who come together as a team, but it has the interesting spin of being set in a department store and the goal is to turn a profit before the store gets shut down.

Some characters are interesting, some are outright annoying, but things start to get interesting in the last 1/3 when we learn who these people are in their private life (like the unexpected blonde girl reveal). What really sold me was the awesome twist in the last 10 mins which I won't spoil.

If we accept that the department store is a microcosm of society, with its diversity, cliques and tensions, and if we see that people slowly start to come together through getting to know each other on personal terms, then what do you suppose the bombshell ending symbolizes?

PS if there are any fans of Jacques Tati out there, did anyone catch the similarities with Playtime and Mon Oncle? Like the way he uses the architecture to frame boxes around people? It reminds us that we're looking at people as if they're in a zoo, adding to the humor. Pretty cool stuff for a first time director.
