Although I can totally see why this would have scared me when young, objectively as as adult, its a pretty poor film. Mostly with the pacing and the writing. I thought the acting for the most part was pretty good and I kep wracking my head trying to figure out where I saw the lead actor (It was Rosemary's Baby) . The film's final out of nowhere gotcha moment at the end with no tangible clues to reach it seemed cheap and I can see why most people would have been turned off by it. There was also some really bad editing. I actually think this material could indeed make for a very creepy story if spun and told correctly however too much incompetence in too many departments bring the film down.
