Noah left Na'el behind and she was trampled to death.
Noah: "I'm very sorry about that girl. And I'm sorry for you. But we have been entrusted with a task much greater than our own desires."
Ham: "Her name was Na'el. She was innocent. She was good."
After the flood Ham decides he cannot stay and he leaves his family.
Ila: "You don't have to go."
Ham: "I don't belong here. For what it's worth, I'm glad that it begins again with you. Maybe we'll learn to be kind."
Will Ham ever forgive his father or will he and his descendants return one day to seek revenge?
Ila: "Will he come back?"
Noah: "Some things cannot be unbroken."

What was Noah supposed to do? It seemed like if he had stopped to help that chick they both would've been trampled. Ham as you call him was very naive and he knew that chick for five minutes what does he know about her innocence or goodness. For all we know she could've been a total racist and a dickhead.

Na'el represents that ppl "Cain descendants" can also be good and innocent. If Noah wanted, I'm sure there would be time to release and carry her, that always happens on movies.
The point there is that Noah wanted mankind to be extinguished, and that also looked like to be god's will, because there were 2 women on the family, 1 too old and the other sterile.
Ham left to depic some ICAR saying, that he went south build african civilizations, which would later become slaves to caucasians/europeans. He left due to ressentment on his father who left the girl die and regretment from having betrayed his family and letting Og stay on the Ark and kill some animals. And also because he didn't wanna watch Ila and his brother grow a family and have all sex they'd want. Maybe he also didn't feel worth of having descendants with one of the girls.
On the movie context, he went to Africa, so he never came back. But then, who would he mate with? Maybe years later one girl traveled looking for him?
