Interesting case. I don't see any episode section in that website though. The Japanese Wikipedia claims it aired on January 2nd from 16:00 to 22:54. If that information is correct then this entry should stay as it is.

It is surprisingly tricky to find reliable information about this drama on the web, but if you look here: https://www.bs-tvtokyo.co.jp/official/chushingura_sonogisonoai/ and scroll down a bit to the "バックナンバー" (back number) section then it's clearly 7 different episodes once it got a rerun on their secondary channels. They just dropped all episodes in one go during the initial broadcast.

It's like Netflix dropping all episodes of some of their shows on a single day for binge watching. That doesn't make those singular movies either. :)

That's the problem. Those are from the rerun. Per our guidelines we should follow the original broadcast, regardless of the intended 7 episodes division. If this was aired all in one day as a whole, then it should remain in the movie page. Don't think we can extrapolate this case to streaming platforms since those make a clear episode division when they drop, looking at the web archive it looks like this split wasn't made until the 2018 rerun.

How do you know the original broadcast didn't had perfectly fine segmented episodes, and even CM blocks between? It certainly wasn't broadcast as a single block. Since the show's own homepage doesn't have the information I sadly have no other way to prove this to you. If their official secondary channel isn't good enough as prove… what else can I do? So, lets have that singular 7 hour+ movie, even if that makes no sense.
