The description on the main page said this film takes place in the location that is part of New England. I changed it to New Jersey.

This film is obviously a fictionalized account of events, but it does feature some real people - Benjamin Franklin and his son, William Franklin. William lived in the mansion across the street from the Young family. William Franklin's mansion while he was Governor of New Jersey was in Perth Amboy, across the river from New York, but he also owned a house in Willingboro, NJ near Philadelphia. I believe the mansion in the movie is meant to be the Willingboro location since Ben Franklin was such a prominent citizen in Philadelphia. The actual Willingboro house was demolished many years ago.

The film also shows the inventor of the La-Z-Boy recliner living in the house at some point, but the La-Z-Boy was invented and manufactured in Michigan. Perhaps the story is suggesting that the man who purchases the design for the recliner was the furniture maker from Michigan who started the company.

Others have also mentioned that the event that killed the dinosaurs depicted in the movie likely didn't occur on what is now the east coast of America. However, they don't dispute that the house is on the east coast, saying instead that the event itself is wrong based on the location of the house.

Okay, so it was the Proprietary House. Which makes the exact address of the house 140 Kearny Ave., Perth Amboy, NJ. Thanks for the info!
