Proč "Lawtonův osud visí na vlásku!" a podobné výplody bulvárních hyen? Bůhví. Faktem však je, že účast takového člověka vládě zrovna na důvěryhodnosti nepřidá. Chraň bůh, že by musel odejít pod mediálním tlakem! Takovou úvahu "premiérův zlý muž" Malcolm Tucker kategoricky odmítá! Oslabovat kabinet však nadále nelze, to je jisté... Hugh Abbot, který Lawtona na téhle ne zrovna nejvděčnější židli vystřídal, si možná i proto víc než dobře uvědomuje její vratkost. Ví, jak málo někdy stačí k pádu, a ví, že nic tak neupevní úředníkovu pozici, jako veřejný úspěch. Jenže kde ho tak nahonem vzít? Chtělo by to nějaký trumf, který by proletěl titulními stránkami všech novin jako bomba a dal všem najevo, že konečně je ten správný muž na tom správném místě. Třeba takový vznik Sociálního sboru proti zneužívání dávek, o němž Abbot letmo pohovořil s premiérem, který byl, jak se mu zdálo, této myšlence velmi nakloněn. Ano, to bude to pravé sousto, které předhodí na mimořádné tiskové konferenci veškeré mediální elitě! Jenomže - byl ten premiérův souhlas opravdu tak jednoznačný? Sitcom Je to soda by bylo možno zařadit kamsi mezi Jistě, pane ministře a Kancl. Na první navazuje tematicky - je to rovněž politická satira z vládního prostředí, Kancl připomíná způsobem realizace: pseudodokumentaristicky točené, dynamická, nervní, těkající (v prvních dílech možná až příliš, posléze se tvůrci poněkud zklidnili) kamera, evidentně částečně improvizovaný dialog. Chytrý humor, brilantně napsané dialogy i výborné herecké výkony, to vše nepochybně přispělo k tomu, že i přes relativně malý počet epizod si již tento seriálek získal značnou pozornost diváků i kritiky (získal již 4 ceny, na další byl nominován).(oficiální text distributora)
