Gene Reynolds (born Eugene Reynolds Blumenthal), 96, has passed. He is perhaps overall best known (definitely is to me) as a former child and teen actor in 1930s and '40s Hollywood films (including some extremely well-known ones), though was also subsequently very successful as a producer, director, and writer. Particularly notably, he was a co-creator of the hit television series MASH.
I most remember Reynolds for his portrayal of sensitive crippled boy Tony Ponessa in Boys Town (1938), though have seen him also in some other films of back then.
Here's his Variety obituary.
RIP.

Very sad to hear.
Gene's name certainly becomes more famous behind-the-scenes once he concludes most of his acting career -- which makes him seem as though he were two different individuals, Gene the child actor, Gene the producer.
Thanks for reporting.
My sympathies
