Barbara Stanwyck (born Ruby Stevens), 1907-1990, is one of the greatest, most truly talented and versatile, stars of yesteryear.
Besides her superb acting skills, she was renowned for not only always being on time, but also early, and for never complaining or seeking special treatment. She always knew all her lines, and did everything/anything (as long as reasonable, of course) asked. Miss Stanwyck was the epitome of professional, and great and easy to work with.
She was revered for always being ready to offer a helping hand, willingly staying late, and for being a real trouper.

I think that of all of the wonderful actresses of the Golden Age, Stanwyck had perhaps the greatest range. She was equally adept at hard boiled thrillers, intense drama, sizzling romance and rapid-fire screwball comedy. Simply brilliant, always watchable - and, by all accounts, a terrific, generous lady to boot.
