Very sad to hear.
A multi-talent professional all the way, he leaves a wide legacy of productions as actor, playwright, novelist, and narrator.
My sympathies

I'm unable to pinpoint exactly which things I've for sure seen Mr. McLarty in, though know he looks very familiar, judging from pictures I viewed of him during the last 24 hours. He was a supporting actor who turned up frequently enough (and over a long span of years) to be sufficiently recognizable, but who I doubt most people ever knew what his name was.
No doubt I recognize him from a combination of Spenser: For Hire, Law & Order, and Law & Order: SVU, as each of those are series I used to watch.
