Peter Davison is best known for his role as the Fifth Doctor (1981-1984) in the BBC TV science fiction series "Doctor Who".
He played Tristan Farnon in the BBC series James Herriot's "All Creatures Great and Small (1978-1980, 1988-1990)".

He was 'my' Doctor Who, in that my most vivid childhood memories of the show are of Peter Davison, Adric, Tegan and co during their time in the TARDIS.
In particular I remember one story with 'The Malus' - some kind of creepy, evil stone face in a wall - which gave me nightmares. I think it was set during the English Civil War.
