Had to repost these gems. All of them are from Bosslogic's account who has such a keen eye and talent for this kind of stuff. There is a capture of emotion and tone skill set there that I haven't seen often. So, very nicely done mate! Also, it's pretty cool to see what I would look like as Super Mario, Solid Snake and Geralt!!

He was my first meeting. I didn’t have writers or scripts yet – just a greenlight and a lot of passion. That was four months ago, and I’ve never forgotten the passion he brought. He IS Geralt. He always has been. I’m so thrilled to welcome HENRY CAVILL to the #Witcher family.

The Witcher - Official Teaser

Fresh from the forges of Netflix and the tempering fires of Hall H in San Diego! Enjoy it my friends, for it is only a taste of what is to come.

The road to San Diego is long. The good news is, on her worst day, Roach beats the company of Men, Elves, Gnomes and even Dwarves. She's not always easy, but she knows more than most and cares just enough to be the only kind of company worth enjoying.

Comic-Con Winners and Losers From Film, TV and Comics Panels

Winner: The Witcher (Netflix)

The rookie show made its debut in Comic-Con's largest space — the 7,200-capacity Hall H that is typically reserved for the biggest of presentations — and faced high expectations coming in: Is this Netflix's Game of Thrones? The answer: Perhaps. With impressive production qualities and a bona fide movie star (Cavill) at the top of the call sheet, the first footage from the streamer's upcoming fantasy drama was the buzz of San Diego and beyond as it was trending worldwide on Twitter hours after its debut Friday afternoon. Promising "more monsters and more magic" than competing fantasy fare currently available on the small screen, showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich tells THR that the show is also notable for the strength of its female leads, Anya Cholatra (as sorceress Yennefer) and Freya Allan (as naive young princess Ciri), promising "deeper, more fleshed out" versions of the characters than their novel or video game counterparts. "Everyone keeps asking if this is Netflix's answer to Game of Thrones, but I keep saying The Witcher is its own thing," Hissrich says.

'The Witcher' First Trailer Casts Spell on Comic-Con

“I’m a big gamer. I’ve played the games a lot,” Cavill said of what attracted him to the role. “There was something about Gerald that struck a chord with me. He’s not your average hero. He’s a hard exterior, real-world type person and at the same time, deep down, he’s a real hero.”

Cavill also revealed that he did his own stunts for the series. “It’s very important for me that you know it’s Geralt and it’s not some guy doing Geralt stuff but it’s me in there,” he told the Hall H crowd before tossing to a clip of Geralt cutting through a throng of armored soldiers in a throne room.

Hissrich added that "the casting process for all three of these characters was crazy. Throughout the process I had Henry’s voice in my head, which is a sign."

The Witcher is based on the popular fantasy novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, which were later adapted into a series of video games by CD Projekt Red. Both the books and the games follow Geralt as he battles mythical monsters and navigates the murky politics of the Nilfgaard Empire and Northern Kingdoms.

Is a good thing Cavill has a beautiful voice and accent. His voice haunted Hissrich for four/five months. smile

I would have cast Cavill right away. I know, I know. That’s not professional at all. Ugh! You must let everybody audition before you choose. Yeah, yeah. Just to be sure you have the best of the bunch. But they say you should trust your gut too. Hissrich’s gut was right. She knew Cavill was her Geralt.

ET

"When I heard they were making The Witcher, I obviously was incredibly excited, and I annoyed the living daylights out of my agent. I called them every day and said: 'Guys, now? Meeting now? How 'bout now?' And they eventually said: 'Look, they've brought on a showrunner, and we've called them, and they said: 'Look, we're not even close to that process yet.’ And I kept on pushing, pushing, pushing, and eventually I think Netflix just got tired."

Now we know that HC got the job bc he was the best, not bc LSH is in love with him. Although, some haters think that she just made that up to throw people off.

Another group of haters think that HC and DJ asked Netflix for too much money. That’s why he didn’t get the job right away. Netflix wanted a cheap nobody.

I hate to say this, but that rumor does make a little sense. The cheap nobody should become an expensive somebody if TW is a hit. But a $400k p/ep paycheck ain't cheap. TW puts HC in the top ten top-earners in TV. Only $100k less than Sean Penn and $200k less than Julia Roberts and Steve Carell.

She wants to throw people off, but she has his voice in her head. Not a smart thing to say. rofl

HC begged for the role. A beggar can’t and won’t ask for a lot of money.

That’s why he didn’t get the job right away. Netflix wanted a cheap nobody.

Doesn’t really make sense. They should have given it to him when he begged for it. You can pay a beggar peanuts. And they knew the beggar’s celeb status was about to go up with JL and MI6. JL flopped, but fans loved SM.

So it’s Netflix’s own fault that they had to pay HC $400k p/ep. Or maybe they didn’t mind. Maybe they wanted him to make something of himself. Become somebody before hiring him. rofl

I’m so emo right now. My hubby is considered somebody. He’s on a list with someone like Julia Roberts. And most importantly, he’s earning almost as much as she does. I feel tears in my eyes. cry

@Blue-Rose said:

That doesn’t make sense. They could have enjoyed his higher celeb status for free. HC was shooting MI6, a very succesful franchise. They also knew that JL would be released in November. Nobody thought that DC’s Avenger would flop.

So they could have hired the cheap beggar in May, before JL and MI6, for peanuts and enjoy his higher celeb status, after JL and MI6, for free the first season. But I think that Netflix cared more about picking the right actor for G than about saving money. They auditioned so many people and HC was the best. I guess that’s why they’re willing to pay him an A-list salary for the first season. They don’t have to do that the first season.

@HCFan said:

No, Netflix was desperate that they decided to pay an impossible to work with non A-list an A-list salary the first season. And to think the impossible to work with non A-list begged for the role. They could have got him for free. I think they paid him an A-list salary to show how rich Netflix is. They have money to waste. stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye

They auditioned so many people and HC was the best. I guess that’s why they’re willing to pay him an A-list salary for the first season. They don’t have to do that the first season.

Actually, they do. Going back to the small screen is a step back in the career of a big screen actor. That’s not the case if you get paid a lot of money p/ep the first season. That means that they believe you can carry the show. The show won’t make you a star. Your star power will make the show a hit. If an A+ star like Julia Roberts can do it for $600K p/ep, why can’t HC do it for $400K p/ep? Even if it paid peanuts the first season, it must be fun to play the character of one of your favorite games. I think a series is better and more fun than a film.

BTW, Jen Aniston is on the same show as Steve Carell, but her name is not on the list of top-earners. They don't put you on the list if you're also a producer? She's also an exec prod, but Steve Carell, Benicio Del Toro and Sean Penn are not. I couldn't check Julia Roberts, because IMDb takes forever to open. They're probably updating it.
