While adding a backdrop to The Master, I noticed that the required dimensions are 16:9. This struck me as odd, considering that it would require shots from some beautiful films shot in a 16:10 aspect ratio to have to be cropped to fit the requirement. It's not really a big deal though, and I figured there must be some reason that 16:10 is unacceptable, perhaps how it jives with Letterboxd's (and other websites') coding. Anyway, just interested if anyone knows why.

Hi MelowMaverick,
TMDb's roots (2008) come from mostly the media centre community and therefore TV. Since then though, we've turned into a damn fine movie database and attracted many 3rd party users like Letterboxd.
