As long as their export contains an external ID that we support I can definitely get support added. Would you be able to send me a copy of the export? travis@themoviedb.org. Thanks!
Hi, just wondering if there was an update with this? I converted my exported MyAnimeList XML to CSV (which looks much cleaner with clear headers and IDs and all that), but got an error that it couldn't be mapped to an import type and to check the support forums/put in a request. I was excited to see someone ask this question and get a hopeful and promising response ...back in 2019. Seeing that it's 2022 and MAL data can't be imported still, is there any way this could be "reopened" and looked into again? Please and thanks!
Required for Any List: IMDb ID, Type
Required for Rating List only: Your Rating
Useful for any list: Date Rated
Required when applicable for TV: Season Number , Episode Number
3 Am I right ?
4 Are any other fields read in the import ?
For example the Position or Date Added field ?
Two more questions: 5 In the .CSV file for Import, can the order of the fields, the sequence, be changed ? 6 Can the fields that are not read, in the current 3 of IMDB, be deleted, including deleted from the header ?
It looks like MyAnimeList uses AnimeDB rather than IMDb for their IDs, which makes sense. I guess that won't be helpful for importing either way. I could go through and manually add IMDb IDs to the corresponding titles, but that defeats the purpose and convenience of exporting and importing. I think the only way it would work as-is (easily) is if TMDB allowed for AnimeDB IDs when importing.
I also only joined TMDB a few days ago, so I'm not all too sure what is or isn't possible haha. Just looking to quickly import all of my various ratings on other sites over here. Thanks for the quick reply though!

When I Export any list from TMDb (Rating, Watchlist and Favourites) I see the same header line in the .CSV :
I assume for Watchlist and Favorites the Date Rated field is actually the Date Added field.
1 Am I right ?
In addition, when Importing a list to TMDb, I believe that only data from the following fields are imported.

I made a tool to convert MAL XML files to TMDb CSV Files (it's not perfect, and movies are not currently supported) Link: mal2tmdb.slidemovies.org
I hope this helps!
