Unable to withstand his sisters' teasing any longer, Yu-yu ran away from home and was brought to an abandoned amusement park by a member of Team Blackout. And that is also where Danji is aiming to get his 20th consecutive win, with Tohya standing in his way for that record.

Yu-yu finds Danji in town and attempts to tail him to find out more, but ended up being discovered. Danji senses Yu-yu's interest in starting Vanguard, and allows him to choose a card to be his buddy. Meanwhile, Megumi misunderstands the closeness of Danji and Yu-yu's relationship, and challenges Yu-yu to a cardfight.

The mysterious challenger Katsuki defeats Megumi and challenges Danji to a match, but Danji has a condition: to defeat Yu-yu first. And that's how Yu-yu started his special training with Danji for the cardfight one week later.

The morning after the sudden retirement announcement, the amusement park is labelled with notices for destruction, and Danji goes missing, leaving Yu-yu and the remaining Blackout members troubled. In order to keep the amusement park from destruction, Megumi sets out to meet someone.

Danji joins the town's Pro-Wrestler Association as a regular to revive it, but is shocked to find out that his opponent is none other than Hiroshi Tanahashi. However, being adept at Vanguard as well, Tanahashi suggests having their match in both arenas as "CardFight Pro-Wrestling."

Tohya appears once more at Wonder Hill with his partner Masanori, hoping to have another match against Danji. Danji wanted to accept the challenge from Tohya, but he has yet to sufficiently recover from his injuries the other day to cardfight. And so, Yu-yu challenges Tohya to a cardfight in Danji's place.

Yu-yu seems to be under the weather after his match with Tohya, and suddenly develops a fever and faints at the amusement park. He intends to rest at home, but with his mother and sisters are away on vacation, a concerned Danji suggests looking after Yu-yu at his house instead.

It's the anniversary of the day Megumi and Danji met. However, Danji shows no signs of any intention to celebrate it, and seems to have completely forgotten about it. Seeing that Megumi has started sulking in disappointment, Tomari takes action to lift her spirits.

Yu-yu and the others are surprised as a helicopter suddenly appears in the skies above the amusement park, with Tohya's partner Masanori in it. As his cards are being blown away by the wind pressure from the helicopter, an angry Zakusa shows another side of him that's uncharateristically wild. Will this be the start of a blood strife between Zakusa and Masanori!?

An injured Shinobu arrives at Wonder Hill after encountering card hunters. Danji's facial expression changes upon hearing Shinobu's story, and he sets off alone. When Megumi and the others return to the amusement park after participating in a meeting of leaders in Danji's stead, they find their fallen comrades with a completely changed Tohya standing amidst them.

Yu-yu arrives at the amusement park at night, only to find his fallen comrades, a stolen banner, and Tohya. Tohya challenges Yu-yu to a fight in one week, threatening that "I'll burn the banner if you don't turn up. And I'll burn it if you lose", and departs from the amusement park.

Yu-yu loses to Tohya. Blackout's banner is burned, and his team mates are overwhelmed by their loss and sense of helplessness. Danji returns at this point, and enraged by what he sees, Danji challenges Tohya to a rematch. What will result from this match, and what awaits Yu-yu and friends?

Danji abruptly relinquishes his position as leader and leaves Team Blackout. Megumi chases after him and challenges him to a Vanguard Fight in order to express the feelings that she cannot put into words.

A conflicted Yu-yu helps the newly appointed team leader Tohya as he works tirelessly at various odd jobs to repair Wonder Hill. Tomari suggests they have a Vanguard Fight. Yu-yu vs Tohya. What lies beyond this rematch?

The team known as "The Daybreak" is lead by the mysterious Mirei Minae. Daybreak continues their hunt for banners everywhere in order to promote their ideal image of Vanguard. To uncover their true intentions, Danji makes contact with Haruka.

Though Mirei enjoys their secret rendezvous, Danji behaves awkwardly. To close the distance between them, Mirei challenges Danji to a fight.

Shinobu and Zakusa await the arrival of Yu-yu, Megumi, and Tohya, who are on their way through the mountain trail to Daybreak's HQ in Nagoya. Shinobu's Greedon bares its fangs upon Megumi, who burns with anger.

Yu-yu and friends take a break at a bathhouse. Danji and Mirei appear before them on their way to grab a parfait. Having differences in the ideals of their teams, Yu-yu and Mirei decide to settle it with cardfigh

Mirei loses sight of Yu-yu and friends at a festival. While being rescued by Danji, Mirei is shocked as she realizes that Danji is Nadatsugu, the brother she thought passed away.

A match with Daybreak. Up first is the person known as the Queen of Ice, Haruka Sokawa, and her opponent is Megumi from Blackout.

Up next, Yu-yu and friends face a vengeful Shinobu, who appears to be relaxed and in top form.

Tohya prepares to settle his score against Masanori. A devious smile plays around Masanori's lips - what could he be up to...?

Yu-yu climbs to the top of Nagoya Castle for a cardfight against Mirei. With the very existence of their teams on the line, the time has come for a final showdown.

Raika receives an invitation and has a choice to make. Meanwhile, Urara misses her stop and finds herself alone. Until Megumi takes her to the nearby amusement park, that is.

"Deluxe", the tournament that would decide the strongest fighter commences. The opening ceremony takes place at Ariake Arena. Shortly before, the Top Fighter Michiru Hazama challenges Danji Momoyama to a fight. As two old acquaintances, what is it that Michiru entrusted Danji with?

Noteworthy battles unfold among the chosen participants at "Deluxe". Among them, is a battle between Yu-yu and Student Council President, Raika Koshiba. Yu-yu was looking forward to a match with Raika, who is an active pro as a Front Fighter on stage.

Yu-yu is overwhelmed by the serious battle with Raika. Mirei visits Yu-yu to cheer him up and brings him a gift. The next opponent is his team mate, Zakusa Ishigame. As Zakusa pushes him with his all, what is this new power that Yu-yu is clad in?!

Urara is unable to focus on the fight because of the "annoying sounds", and wishes to hear the sounds she heard when she first fought with Yu-yu once more. Mirei, her opponent, comes to understand Urara's feelings. Sounds heard by the heart, and lights seen by the heart. A real fight between the two begins.

Megumi's opponent is none other than the one known as Japan's Number 1, Michiru. Ever since deciding to participate in "Deluxe", Megumi has been determined to put in more than twice the effort and training. Megumi, inheritor to the Legend of Kaga; her will gives rise to a marvelous onslaught!

It's time for a match between Front Fighters Raika and Taizo Kiyokura, a hotshot businessman who's in to both beautiful ladies and Vanguard. Taizo is a powerhouse fighter who has a history of wins under his belt. Can the talented young Raika see the path to victory?!

Yu-yu faces Taizo with the entry to Top 8 on the line. Yu-yu, who fights while receiving support from his friends, is a fighter different from those that the cheerful Taizo usually faces. There seems to be a reason that Taizo is fighting for amidst admiration from his employees in this tournament.

After the fierce battles, fighters who won their way into the remaining 8 spots spend their time thinking before the next round begins. Yu-yu welcomes an unexpected guest, Tohya departs on a long journey, and Raika shows a new side apart from that which Urara wasn't good with.

First match of the "Deluxe" tournament quarterfinals. Yu-yu vs Urara. To Urara, it feels like a rematch of when she first encountered Vanguard. However, Urara receives support from the people around her and becomes too conscious of wanting to win, and begins to show Yu-yu an unexpected development of the fight.

First match of the semifinals has two powerhouse fighters facing off. It is a ferocious fight between fellow knights Bastion and Tohya with a "thirst for strength" against Youthberk and Raika who thinks "there's no meaning apart from winning". What lies beyond this fight, and what does Raika's Skyfall aim to achieve?

Yu-yu and Michiru face off in the second match of the semifinals. Taizo says that Michiru's loneliness is due to his overwhelming strength. Without flinching against the strongest fighter, Yu-yu has decided to proceed to the finals in order to have a rematch against Raika. Michiru discovers something amidst the fight against Yu-yu.

Final match of Deluxe. Yu-yu, who never forgets to "enjoy the fight" no matter which strong opponent he faces, and Raika, a genius who values winning above all else. The fight between the two with different beliefs leads to a development beyond imagination. Who will be known as history's strongest fighter?!
