They supported Ho Chi Minh's mass-murdering government. Not with this show. They supported him with their 1967 variety show made after this was cancelled in 1966.

A really funny viewing experience happened to me. I watched this show on Nick at Nite (innocent of their horrible radical activities). The next day we were dining at a restaurant with my sister and brother-in-law. I asked my bro-in-law if he had watched the Smothers Brothers the night earlier--he said he had. I mentioned Wayne Rogers (later of Mash) to him he said he did not see Rogers in the show. Turns out he was talking about the 80's revived Smothers Brothers variety show!
PS See my postings on bad, radical Mash as well.
