Item: The Inspector Lynley Mysteries
Language: en-US
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: The episode "A Great Deliverance" has been added to TMDb not only as a 2-parts Special, but also as the 1st season's third (and not a 2-parter) episode:
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/1167-the-inspector-lynley-mysteries/season/0?language=en-US
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/1167-the-inspector-lynley-mysteries/season/1?language=en-US
The Specials listings present "A Great Deliverance" as having premiered in March 2001, while TMDb's Series 1 listing for the episode presents it as premiering in April 2002.
For what it may be worth, IMDb lists "A Great Deliverance" as the overall (all seasons) series' debut episode - Season 1, Episode 1 (and not a 2-parter): https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0280263/?ref_=tt_ep_pr
Meanwhile, Wikipedia indicates it to have been the overall series' 2-parts pilot, that preceded Series/Season 1: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Inspector_Lynley_Mysteries
I'm guessing that Wikipedia is correct. If so, all of how TMDb presently lists Series/Season 1 is out of whack, as we have 3 probably-not-right episodes preceding the episode "Well Schooled in Murder" that appears to probably accurately be Series/Season 1's first episode.

Thanks for your report!
Yes, that was incorrect - a combination of different versions. Series 2 was also wrong (8 instead of 4 episodes), so I fixed the following 3 seasons (I called them series now):
However, I'm not 100% sure that the 2 pilot episodes belong in the Specials. There are 3 different sentences in the Contribution Bible that kind of contradict each other:
"Pilot episodes should be entered as the first episode of the first season (1x01). [...] The pilot episode of an existing series can be added to the special season if didn't aired on television as part of the original first season. This might be the case when there is, for example, a significant cast change and a new pilot is remade with the new cast. [...] Pilots which originally aired as proper television movies or one-offs and later became a television series belong in the movie section. We try to replicate the format of the original release."
My problem is that I can't really say how those 2 pilot episodes actually aired - the data is not conclusive. I choose to follow the official BBC website and an older version of it:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007rr0c/episodes/guide
http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/lynley/episodes
Also, just for info: I took a quick glance at the seasons 3 to 6, and it looks like the episode count is correct. However, I'm not sure about some air dates in seasons 5&6 -> the data on the official BBC website does not match with data on TVDb, Wikipedia and IMDb. I don't know why there's a difference - perhaps this has to be researched more porperly?

Thanks so much for doing the excellent fixes and for the investigating you did!
A TMDb user had added dozens of guest stars of Series/Seasons 1 and 2 as, collectively, Season 1 regulars (despite that none of the actors and actresses in question had appeared in more than a single episode). I manually deleted all those supposed "regulars", figured out which episode each individual actor/actress actually appeared in, and added them in to their proper specific episode.
Between the various problem situations that had been going on, with the pilot's duplicated entries, and misnumbered episodes, and misaligned seasons, and the slew of people incorrectly added as S1 regulars (who definitely weren't) - not to mention the Helen Clyde Lynley issue! - things about this show's TMDb presentation were in quite a state of disorder, prior to now!
All is much improved now, though!

Yes, I've seen your deletions!
That happens very often, actually, but not to this extent ...
Yes, it looks better now. But I'm not sure about those pilot episodes -> I'll keep this discussion open and let another moderator decide. The fix is easier now - we just have to move the episodes, in case it's wrong.
