The problem is here ("The streamer has ordered more episodes of 1883") and here ("The result was an episode that felt firmly like the conclusion of a story, not the end of a season, and, as noted, it’s not even that since Paramount+ announced last week the order of “additional episodes” of 1883, while declining to call it a “season two.”").
But I will let other moderators decide.

Paramount+ announced today that a previously ordered Bass Reeves miniseries (TMDB entry here) will now be titled 1883: The Bass Reeves Story. The article also mentions that "[d]espite Bass Reeves‘ status as an 1883 spinoff, there are still no plans for the mothership to return."
Based on the show's new title, the article saying there are no plans for 1883 to return, and Taylor Sheridan emphatically calling 1883 a "ten-hour movie that ended," it's possible that the "more episodes of 1883" that were ordered have been reworked to be part of the Bass Reeves show instead.
Based on the above, I don't oppose changing 1883's TV Show Type and Status to Miniseries and Ended, respectively.
