Every engaging show with a great premise and some fantastic gore, but I wish they had wrapped things up in a single season like Midnight Mass. As it stands, I am getting very strong Lost vibes (and not just because they share an actor). The premise starts off very simple and straight forward, and then gets more and more convoluted as the season concludes. I will watch season 2 but I fear it's just going to go off the rails the longer it goes.
My only real complaint is that people weren't smart enough to nail their windows shut after repeated instances of people opening the windows to the monsters.

What do the monsters look like? I tried googling but kept coming up with monsters from other things?

Initially they just look like creepy white people in 1950's attire who are constantly smiling as they approach you, but once they have you their faces morph with a mouth full of sharp teeth and long claws (reminded me of 30 Days of Night vampires). The show smartly only shows this VERY briefly and instead lingers on the aftermath of their attacks, which are... brutal, to say the least. I haven't seen this kind of gore since Starship Troopers.
