In my opinion GT suffered because it was not the right time for a sequel like that. Toriyama had just closed Z and people were satisfied with the franchise, so the quality drop of GT was very evident. On the other hand, after Toriyama wrote Battle of Gods, a renovated interest for the DB universe resurfaced and people were suddenly more eager to enjoy another take on a sequel of Z.

You can watch and enjoy both, no need to be rude.

Dragon Ball Super is 100000000000 times better than the horrendous Dragon Ball GT.
