Good, clever series. I enjoyed it - and hope a Series 2 will eventually come about (which I've read or heard there is significant likelihood of).
I've for years been a fan of wonderful Lesley Manville. In this she, as usual, gives a superb performance.
By the way, very cool opening-credits montage and accompanying music.

Everyone hopes that series 2 will start filming soon, perhaps in 2023? Of course it all depends on the financiers and when Lesley is available. It will probably be adapted from the second Susan Ryeland novel "Moonflower Murders (2020)".
Here is the "Magpie Murders Preview Q&A" panel with author Anthony Horowitz, producer Jill Green, director Peter Cattaneo and stars Lesley Manville, Daniel Mays and Tim McMullan.
Lesley Manville is an excellent actress. So many great performances in other television series, like "Emmerdale", "Ain't Misbehavin", "Mum", "Fleming", "The Crown", to name but a few, and of course there are the movies, of which "Maleficent" is probably the best known to the general public. I hope that she'll one day be honoured with the title of Dame.

I've been watching and enjoying the reruns in anxious anticipation of Moonflower Murders which will premier next month. Yes, Lesley Manville is superb - as always - and the rest of the actors are well-cast and excellent, particularly Tim McMullan. I've been a big fan of Anthony Horowitz ever since his outstanding Foyle's War series. The device of traveling back and forth in time in Magpie Murders PLUS the parallel plots he employed are simply brilliant!!!

I hardly ever feel like I have enough hours in a week to follow series (or get around to watching movies) anymore, but will try hard to make time for the mentioned new series when it comes on PBS starting next month!
