A wealthy businessman, unhappy with a contract he's signed, tries to void the contract through devious and unscrupulous means. His actions place an innocent man in trouble with the law for assault and battery. The problem for Maris is that it's his client breaking the law.

Maris receives an important clue from a young girl in an employment agency racket. Maris decides to investigate.
