Discuss The Walking Dead

the purpose of this thread is to combine threads that otherwise wouldn't last long. questions about the show, comments about the shows past and present, and and comparisons/changes from comic to show. typically these threads stick around at or near the top or the board due to their multi topic handling.

Carl needs to die for Rick to move on and kill Negan. I don't think his character for the entire show so far has seen any major character arcs. There are many more interesting people that the show can focus on.

thanks topspin. but i just can't see the show killing him off, they'd have to kill off enid as well then. not that it would be the end of the world but I'm trying to see the show without him and i can't.

Yes! I think there should be a thread for spoilers. Post away!

Carl is not going anywhere anytime soon. He has an important part to play yet, if they stick to the comic storyline. Which it seems the last few seasons they have been.

I would like to not look at his eye hole anymore though, he needs to rock the pirate path from here on out.

Lol, well, maybe he'll take a tip from the governor. I'm sure he's not going to go the rest of his life with a bandage on his head.

There's gotta be a party store or costume shop that hasn't been ransacked yet... hell I live near Alexandria and I can think of three over there. Although they film in GA.

Lol, don't worry, they'll come up with something.

@chucknorrissinspiration

I agree with you about Carl's eye socket. I'd prefer not to see that from now on. Get a permanent eye patch over that thing. Ugh!

That whole "eye socket" thing followed the comic book, I enjoyed searching the comic online to find out. I think the comic/tv series parallel is intriguing, since the comic book series is still ongoing. I could rant about how tv series' generally fall away from their beginning intent. But the comic book gives guidances that other shows don't have.

@SnowCharming2011 you are correct and I agree, one thing TWD has on GOT us that the tv material shouldn't surpass the written, which I think is a good thing.

I love spoilers, for the most part. Haven't watched GOT. I fell for Once Upon a Time (which is why I finally created an account on IMDb, hence the name). But OUaT has turned in to a weekly Days of our Lives (I still watch OUaT, tho). It makes me appreciate a good Mini-series sooooo much more. They don't go wonky. And TWD seams to keep true to it's intent, I assume because of the ongoing Comic.

So the actor playing Father Gabriel has a full beard in the Talking Dead after the Feb 12, 2017 premiere, but only has a mustache on The Walking Dead. I don't know how long ago they taped this part of the season. The Talking Dead full beard made me think that Gabriel is not long for this show. He was certainly up to something on tonight's show.

That wasn't Gabriel it was Ezekiel on The Talking Dead.

Thought the episode was paced just fine. Loved the GPK at the end... they look rough, rick loved them. I think we're in for a wild ride. Good premier imo.
