What a better way to get weapons than hitting up a military complex, although it's probably crawling with Walkers. Still, that would be my first thought

At this point in the apocalypse a place like that has either been looted to the bare walls, or it's packed with thirty thousand walkers (the only reason it hasn't been picked clean). I'd send some people to take a look, and scout the place if there isn't a crowd there, but I wouldn't exactly hold my breath expecting the mother lode. If you can get onto the grounds safely there's almost certainly nothing left.

Why Annapolis? I live in the D.C. Area and I can tell you there are a ton of military bases here, many of which are much closer to Alexandria than Annapolis.

Oh, okay. I was uncertain if there was anything closer, but you get my drift

I don't think they have gas to spare for trips that have a big chance of not producing anything.

I'm a bit more disappointed that they haven't really tapped in to true prepping, and or bumped into any preppers yet, Eugene making bullets is about as close as they've come.

Actually, at this point the gasoline they found (or kept in storage) would be damn near useless. I mean it's TV and all. But in real life, you'd have to convert your cars to run on biodiesel and plant some corn to make it with. Otherwise your engines will start seizing up from the crap you're pouring into the gas tank.

Well personally never tested that theory, but some said they did and it can last 3-4 years if you're lucky.

2 years tops with treatment

Real doomsday prepper/survivalist types are likely to kill you, so you don't have a chance to come back with more people and take what they have. Eventually you must start making certain things yourself or you're not going to have them anymore. You can only scavenge the leftovers of civilization for so long.
