Discuss The Walking Dead

I really liked it...except for their attempt at manipulating us by leading us to think that Rick had been killed and devoured by walkers, it was really intelligent & engaging. One of my favorite parts was when the leader of the junkyard people (I think her name is Kandis?) said that there weren't enough guns to cover the deal: this kept things from being too easy for Rick and company, I think. And speaking of company, how about that Rosita? She is just stunning to look at, but grating to listen to. Her plan to take out Negan with just Sasha is unbelievably dumb.....

Opposites do not attract. You have to have something in common. Let's not forget that. Before the apocalypse Rick and Michonne would never have gotten together. She didn't even date men like him. He didn't date women like her. Sure Lori was tough...but she wasn't a fighter like Michonne. The only reason they are together is because the writers FORCED it. And sure, nobody wants to see a promiscuous black woman on a mainstream show. Heavens forbid. That would actually take more of a risk than the interracial relationship.

Don't be silly. Most relationships are simply about situations and opportunity.

Given the right situation and opportunity I could be dating Scarlett Johansson, for example if we were the sole survivors of a plane crash and found ourselves stranded on a desert island it would only take me around 3 years to work my magic.

I understand that you're trying to be funny but that example really isn't the same situation at all. You would have to do work to convince Scarlet Johansson. It wouldn't happen on it's own like a natural attraction. She would consider it condescending if she layed with you. I guess that's the point? Rick condescended to be with Michonne because he wouldn't have chosen her before the apocalypse. So he's like Abraham.

I think what got them together is the situation. That is what they have in common. Without the end of the world they would not have anything in common. So that is the reason they are together. And who else would be a good enough match for either? I mean if we had to go there which apparently the show runners felt a romance amidst the mess was going to boost ratings; then Rick and Michonne out of all the other hook ups makes sense.

Hated it.

they planning on offing both rosita and sasha?

I actually get a really strong feeling that Sasha is about to bite it quite soon, which kinda stinks.....but hey, the change is good for Sonequa Martin-Green! Congrats to her.

I've heard that Negan kills Sasha in the comics and adds her to the perimeter defenses as a walker. Rosita apparently doesn't exist in the comics so her fate is anyone's guess. If she survives, she needs to pull herself together and stop doing stupid shit that gets people killed.

Rosita is in the comics, she gets killed by alpha and her undead head adorns a spike. Michonne later impaled her head to put her out of misery.

You have the two mixed up. Sasha is not in the comics. Tyreese did not have a sister, he had a daughter and she was not named Sasha. Rosita is in the comics and her storyline up to as far as the Negan intro is very close to what the series has written. I don't know her current status and wouldn't spoil it if I did.

laughing I don't like this laughing emoji either. It looks more like a grimace of pain to me.

*There was no forcing in my eyes. It was a slow burn up to a sexual relationship. Lets not forget, the show was not suppose to follow the comics word for word. Jessie & Rick seem more forced because Andrew & the actress had no chemistry. While I agree that before the apocalypse they might not have met nor dated however, Michonne is the type of woman he needs now, in that world. A woman that is his equal, who pushes him to fight and never give up and who is just as loyal & protective of the ones she loves. *

And sure, nobody mainstream wants to see a promiscuous black woman who is so broken emotionally that only way she can access her vulnerability or submission is through sexually conquering every black male character. Heavens forbid. That would actually take more of a risk than the interracial relationship. The fact is that Michonne is a broken woman and she stays that way. Her ability to survive is because she's broken and hardened. But she's not a psychopath like Negan or the Governor so in TWD world that makes her a hero.

Now this I agree. In this universe, the group, Carl & rick helps get her through those demons. She is slowly getting back what she lost.

And just because her and Rick became friends doesn't mean that they are fit to be lovers. Rick is friends with Carol. He went from being her enemy, to commrades to trusted friends. Carol saved the group a lot of times. So what's the difference between Michonne and Rick vs Carol and Rick? The writers didn't go with logic and put Carol and Rick together. Carol has more in common with Lori. At least Carol knows what It's like to be a housewife. She wasn't an ambitious working mom like Michonne. Michonne doesn't even spend time a lot of time with Carl and Judith. Somone else is always babysitting them.

*I agree, not all male/female friends are meant to be lovers but for them it works. There is a level of trust & respect between them because they were friends first. The difference is chemistry which again is important. Andrew & Danai have great chemistry which the writers saw. There is nothing sexual between Rick & carol. There is no romantic chemistry between the actors either. The same way folks keep shipping Carol & Daryl, its not there. Michonne spends time with Carl & Judith when she can. She's not their mom so its not like she's obligated to watch them. Not saying she doesn't care about them cause she does and will kill to keep them safe. Michonne is a fighter and right now they are preparing for war. *

They made a huge mistake putting Michonne and Rick together. It just doesn't work. It's like eggs and syrup mixed together.

I watched the episode on a low resolution download and i was shocked at how shitty the CGI Deer was, seriously this show makes millions a year, it would have cost them like $5k for a good CGI shot for that deer and they effed that up as well..how lame :/

btw, Sasha will be killed off before the season ends, I'm saying this because the actress has signed onto another show (Star trek) now which is usually a sign that they are no longer going to be part of TWD.

They showed a couple of biters get greased by Michonne only from their shadows, I think so they're probably trying to save money, as someone else pointed out, Warpath.

I kind of don't see why they didn't just use a real dear, as was stated on the thread, I mean, a deer's not a lethal animal....
