Too much canned laughter

I enjoy this show but I wish they could hold back on the canned laughter. Not every little joke is in intitled to a huge laugh..come on get real.

It isn't canned laughter. It is the live audiences laughter.

I agree there is a live audience but they edit in canned laughter to boost some of the laughs. ELR (one of my favorite shows) did this masterfully but TBBT hacks it in there. If you listen to the show in the next room out of site of the TV, you realise how ridiculous it sounds.

I always just assumed they had someone to "warm up" the audience in a way that gave unseen context to the stuff they laugh at but shouldn't.

So, I don’t fault the audience for being overly-enthusiastic.
I’ve been to a couple of tapings (not this show); and unless you have, then there is no way to explain the euphoria you experience throughout…JUST BY BEING THERE.
Never mind “canned” laughter…I’d look into “canned” air .
That is, as “high” as you feel they may as well be pumping in some kind of laughing agent through the HVAC system.
--Something that otherwise would have gotten a chuckle; will have you laughing your “A” off.--
Can’t explain it except to say that “S” IS a whole lot funnier when you are there IN PERSON!

This thread just reminded me of a video I stumbled across yesterday. Someone found that one annoying laugh in the How I Met Your Mother laugh track and made a montage of it. Beware - once you hear it......you cannot unhear it.

It's such a sit-com norm that I didn't give it a second thought until reading all the wailing and gnashing of teeth about it on the imdb board. Figures that it would follow us here.

I think it's been pretty good! There's been lots of developments, and even though I was wary about some of them (as in, me not really liking it -- and I'm still hating the idea of nested or well.. any other kind of view than this, haha!), it all ended up okay! I even love to throw around emojis! Whether related to the thing I'm saying, or not..
Some users (okay, lots of you IMDb guys) had some problems adjusting, but I think most came to like TMDb, now that they know their way, around the forums, around the website. Some even started to be great contributors! (Also, if you plan on becoming a contributor, we'll be releasing a contribution bible soon (or well, sooner rather then later, haha!), with all our little rules and tips and tricks. It's gonna be great, I promise~) That's really cool to see!
We don't have too many trolls, there was a little thing on the Beyoncé forums with some people wreaking havoc (I'm exaggerating a bit), but that's all resolved. I think.
And!!!! We even have a General board section, for all your I REALLY NEED TO KNOW questions, and off topic banter~.
I don't know anything about how many extra users there actually are. But it looks like a lot, the forums (Support) have never been so active. Maybe Travis will release some stats and figures sometime, that would be kind of cool?!
