A question for fans who remember details re: 4/12 (ep 7) Spoilers to follow

I am terrible with names, faces and such - plus, I have seen loads of this show so sometimes they meld into one another ...
While watching this season I keep being surprised at what a "nice guy" Jeff Varner is - I seriously remember him as being not so nice on another season. Then watching this tribal council I thought "I was right!"
So, my question is this ..... Was Jeff Varner more of a villain during his prior season?

I would call Varner a villain, for sure. Not in a bad way, until the last episode. His first season was Australian Outback, season 2. Kind of a villain that season but not over the top. He played again recently, a couple of seasons ago, and again, kind of a villain but not over the top. He was always snarky and devious, but nothing like last episode. I didn't like him in Outback, I did like him in his second season. I was liking him this season until that last tribal council. He'll be pretty difficult to redeem after that.

Thank you so much - this season, every time he was onscreen. I would try and figure out why I didn't like him. This tribal council I was shocked at the inhumanity he displayed.
My heart broke for Zeke and every time they showed his face I could almost hear the deafening buzz that must have been going on in his head.
