Off to a decent start. I am sad to see Jacob go. Smart but socially awkward goobers like him are gold to me. Does he even realize that he made the exact same mistake with the advantage that Sierra did? Hilarious. Gonzalez, meh. I hope the jock alliance is taken down soon. I always love the looks of shock they get when they lose.

Yeah!
During all the tribals, Micheal voted for Wendell -- all the time. It didn't make any sense. HIs hateful ass was so dumb and focused on Wendell that when he was on the chopping block, he cast a vote for who else but Wendell.
If he had voted for Laurel when Kellyn cast two votes for Laurel, he would not have been voted out that night,
During his exit interview, his smugged self was so happy to be the youngest guy at camp, yadda, yadda, yadda. . .

Donathan surprised me. He seemed to be team Dom during the game but voted for Wendell to win.

He just honestly answered a question at the final tribal, but Dom did seem to bully him a couple of tribals ago when he asked Donathan to say something.

True.
This was a tough call for me on who should be the winner. My gut said Wendell. At final tribal, my brain said Dom. I see them tied physical and strategic game. The jurors said that Dom had the better social game, which would logically be the the breaker. This is maybe the toughest call ever on the winner, at least for me.

To outwit, to outplay, and to outlast is too blurred in my opinion, so I will use the following criteria in deciding the winner.
Strategic: Dom used a lot of strategies in bold ways, but I think Wendell did as well. Wendell was just more cool about it. Throughout the game, both men needed each other, especially when they were both on the chopping block.
Social: I thought Wendell was seen making social moves. Of course, he gave Laurel the idol. He took Ang and Sebastion on the award, and they both voted for him. Plus, as I read Donathan interview, he and even Laurel said that Wendell had the better social game.
Physical: Tie -- both won the same amount of immunity challenges and were each an equal physical threat.

What did you think about Wendell wanting the purple seat during the fire making challenge?

I might have felt the same way. Not sure I would have given it to him so easily.
In retrospect, I think Dom would have been better off doing the fire challenge. Yes, if he loses he doesn't make final, but if he prevails then he is the winner.

I was scratching my head over that, because the rule was that HE chooses ONE player to take to the final tribal. It didn't say he chooses TWO players to the final, and he goes to fire.

Anyone watching this new season? I am impressed so far. I'll start a thread, so come one, come all!

So far, no, but I could possibly be persuaded. I got burned out on Survivor gimmicks and skipped last season.

Last season, you didn't miss anything last season, other than them geeking out on a geek, so glad they didn't show a superfan.
