I read the previous discussion opened by another user and I confirm that I neither found anything on the wayback machine. But I made some researches and I found some articles that can confirm the two-hour premiere episode and not a separate two episodes. The first one goes back to July 2003, in which is written that the premiere will be a two-hour episode:

This article has clearly the date of the premier wrong, even because it was written many months before.

Then I found this other one:

that goes back 3 days before the premiere, that confirms it will be the 3rd of March, 2004.

Eventually I found this last article from Washington Post the same day of the premiere:

which confirms other than the date, even that it will be a two-hour episode.

I'll wait for you in order to know if these above are enough to change the serie to 13 episodes (merging the first two episodes). I hope so. Best Regards.
