Those two are a bit strange to me--I could not put my finger on who they reminded me of, with their way of speaking and enunciating, but then it hit me. They reminded me of Ruth Buzzi from "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In" when she impersonated TV evangelist Kathryn Kuhlman. There is a video on YouTube and by golly, she sounds just like the twins.

Their speaking doesn't bother me as much as their lack of talent on this show.

If I may opine about the Twins, good god I am SO glad I don't have to be in a confined space having to listen to them, if you will, all day long. I just loved how Maggie Q. slammed the bald one for constantly calling a perfectly normal sized woman "curvy." Best moment of the episode. The runway show was pretty underwhelming for the second week in a row.

What is confusing is a lot of the work they showed in the interview show was great. I see two possibilities.
One is that there is someone else doing, or helping, in their designs.
Second is that they are not fast. This wouldn't surprise me. A lot of very talented people do not work quickly.
Whichever it is, and I'll be generous and say its probably the latter, its a problem. Speed is a part of this show. If you can't create quickly, you probably don't belong.

The ridiculously short time frames the contestants are given does favor the ones who work quickly, but maybe are not the most talented. Kini from a couple of seasons ago comes to mind. He could always come up with a decent look in a short time, but when he had lots of time to do a complete collection his lack of vision really showed. I get that it creates drama, but it does dumb down the fashion.

I know! Right!
Possibly.
I don't feel that speed is their main problem. I think it is planning.
If you need to cook dinner in thirty minutes, you will not break out with a five-course meal with each dish being very time consuming to make. No, if you know you have 30 minutes then you pick a dish that you can prepare in 30 minutes.
With that said, their designs didn't look that complicated at all. A lot of their trouble is in the planning of what to make and how to go about doing it.

You have a good point.

Yeah, I wonder what kind of f'upped childhood they had to make them resort to speaking that way when stressed. I can't wait for one to go so the other will completely fall apart. The lack of talent will become even more obvious when they can't rely on each other to co-design all their pieces.

I guess we will find out this week when they have to do a face off. Very anticlimactic to hold it over for a week, though. Any other two people, they would have sent the one home who said they should go (as Shawn did last week). The judges have been salivating over this scenario. I am not. Shawn should have gone last week and then we could all move on.

I'm quite interested in this showdown. I'm not looking forward to the tears and breakdowns. No, I want to see sew their a@@es off, because I really want to see how that looks.

The other designers seem to think that Clare is the more talented. That makes me think that Shawn prevails in the showdown.
