First I should have known watching this while 8 months pregnant wouldn't be good..i practically burst into tears when Elena tells caroline that stefan got her message. I get everyone lived a human life and died and was reunited with their loved ones..but why weren't they old? Also i feel bad for caroline out of everyone she is the only one still a vampire so she will never see anyone ever again..assuming she never dies..not even her children once they die. I guess once she lives long enough she could just end her life to be reunited with her loved ones...Unless they want her happy ending to be with Klaus. Speaking of Klaus..how did he send a donation if he's currently held captive? Unless it was supposed to be some time later and we know Klaus is alive and well... So when caroline shows up on TO, Klaus is already out of trouble.. It was sad Stefan died but u kinda had a feeling once he became human.. One thing i don't get is how does a human hold a 500+ vampire in place while waiting for their death? Why didn't katherine leave? It just seemed too easy. I seemed kinda like a True Blood ending..the Bill in True Blood is the Stefan of TVD. I felt bad for Alaric and Matt..they never have good love lifes.. I wish it could have show that Elena and damon had children.. It also didn't show alaric, Matt or Jeremy in the after life..they are human so if Elena and damon died..they should have too.. Overall it was an emotional episode (or maybe that's the pregnancy horomones) lol.

Well, Caroline could always take the cure from Damon when hes old and become human, althought then shed have to live a while lifetime without anyone. As for Klaus, currently they will be roughly the same times I believe...VD fast forwarded like 4 years or so a season or 2 ago, and when we go back to TO it will have had a time jump as well. So IF they do it right, and viewers allow it lol They could easily write it that its the same time now for both.
As for how Stefan held Katherine, POSSIBLY because she was technically human when she died. Even tho she was in Elenas body, she herself was human from taking the cure. So maybe Katherines body in hell, was human even tho she was also the new devilly figure. so she could "die" but she was still "human". So yes, even tho Stefan was human too, it was probably just watching a man over power a woman. She also, IF it mattered had just been continually stabbed lol So if that weakened her at all that could have played a part.
I do wish that Matt or Alaric had some kind of love life. All Alarics people kept ending up dead, or in love with someone else. And Matt just never really had a love interest except the one, who happened to end up dead.. As for the afterlife part, we can assume that Elena was only seeing those who were dead, so Jeremy might not have been dead yet to have the nice family reunion. And Damon ended up with Stefan as they were family too. Alarics afterlife might have looked like him reuniting with Jo. Maybe everyone had their own person afterlife? Or else I would think that Damon and Elena would have ended up together in the afterlife as well. But that would have made a worse ending without seeing everyone else.
Also, why werent they old? Who wants to see a bunch of old people? LOL We got soo little of Elena in this episode if they spent any of it as her being old I dont think I would have liked it. In Elenas afterlife, everyone was young cuz they died young..It also looked like they were showing us not long after they beat Katherine, for everyone else. By doing so, they didnt have to show anything future like, like kids or spouses. They just left us with our cast, and told us what happened in their near future. Which I guess is enough. And since it looks like they are leaving the door open for anything with Caroline and Klaus, they couldnt tell us anything about her future passed the near future anyways or else we would know what happens there.

Ya...also I was surprised we didn't see penny watching over Matt as well..i thought she would be with Vicki and Tyler.. IRL maybe the accress couldn't make it..I uno but from the shows POV she should have been there.

I wasn't surprised by the ending. I figured Stefan was going to die, and I liked that they reunited with loved ones in the afterlife. I don't feel sorry for Caroline. It's obvious (to me anyway, haha) that she'll eventually fall in love with Klaus and he'll spend eternity giving her the world. She will also be fulfilled by spending time with the children in the school. She is going to be fine and won't be lonely, and she wants to be a vampire. At least that's my head canon. The flashforward was supposed to be years in the future, so I'm guessing Klaus broke out by that time. I think Alaric is going to be involved with Caroline's school.
Nina seemed a little off to me, but that's probably a product of her being gone and then coming back for one episode. She did okay as Katherine, but I think she forgot how to play Elena.

I agree that she seemed off. But in the episode she had more time to play Katherine, so she probably spent more time practicing Katherine than Elena.

That would be nice, but im not sure how they would manage it. Like, I get HOW lol they ship her off there and teach..But I mean with Klaus being Klaus and Hailey being Hailey, that are the chances they would let their child go to school in a different town than where they are living. Or go to school at all for that matter. With how many enemies they have, id be surprised if they EVER let Hope go off to school on her own. She will probably be home schooled where they can watch her at all times.

Ya unless Klaus and Hailey start working at that school too.

Would work. Although Klaus leaving where they are now, seems really unlikely. Hailey, maybe...But Klaus would never let her take Hope away. Youd have to basically move TO show back to Mystical falls, which would be hard without any of the Mystic falls people. Although maybe, if they brought Caroline over to TO for a bit, Klaus would fall in love again blah blah blah and trust her enough for Hope to leave town with her.

For a second, when Elena was with Jenna and her parents on the front porch, I thought that was going to be the final scene. That annoyed me. I liked that the final scene was with the brothers hugging. And of course, "Hello, brother."

I was kinda confused..i was thinking so Elena and damon aren't gunna be in the after life together..but i think Elena went to her parents first while Damon went to find his brother..then they would all meet up again (we just didn't see that).

Would have liked to see Elena and Damon's families all together along with Alaric

I can see that happening eventually, but only as a post-show epilogue deal kind of like what they did on TVD. I think they have every intention of putting Caroline and Klaus (and Elijah and Hayley) together in the end. Julie Plec said in a post-finale interview that the original plan was to have Klaus show up on Caroline's doorstep, but they changed it to a letter at the last minute because Joseph Morgan wasn't available. I can see the final scene of TO being Caroline showing up on Klaus' doorstep instead.

I like the letter idea better. It was like a hint to maybe more for them, without actually putting him right in our faces. I would love them together, but after literally just watching Stefan die, and the episode before than them getting married...Having him show up right at the end would have make it icky for me...I get that sometime may have passed from when Stefan died to when she got the letter, but it would have felt too rushed for me after everything that I just watched. Like saying, I know your husband just died, wanna run away with me ? But a letter, is a nice friendly reminder that hey, he still exists and is thinking of you.

I agree. I thought the letter was perfect. I think fans (particularly Steroline fans) would have been really upset if Klaus had shown up at the end. I'm still not sure what the point of the wedding was to be honest. Why even have Stefan/Caroline get married when the plan was to leave a Klaus/Caroline open ending? I guess the point was that they left it up to the fans' interpretation? You can either imagine that Caroline gets with Klaus and lives a full, eternal life with him and the kids, or she eventually dies and is reunited with Stefan in the afterlife. Both scenarios work (provided that TO's ending is also open ended) and could be considered canon.

Ya i would have also felt icky if Klaus just showed up considering we JUST watched Stefan die..Ya to the characters time has passed but it would have been too soon for me.
