Den's trial is fast approaching and Michelle phones up the surgery to inform Doctor Legg that she is too ill to go into work the next day.

It is Den's last day in prison before his case goes to court and he gets a visit from Sharon, who tells him she doesn't want his money. Colin invites Donna to dinner in the hope that he can talk some sense into her. Guido and Colin have a talk about their future. The Firm have a meeting about Den. Michelle tells Pauline that she is going to the court to see Den.

Wicksy asks Pat if he can move into the spare room at the Vic. Michelle goes to the wine bar to ask Mantel if he knows where Den is, while Den desperately tries to contact Michelle. They arrange to meet at the canal as the Firm desperately search for Den to seal his fate. Barry returns to the Square on a seven day break from his job on the cruise ship, and pops in to surprise Colin. Colin moves out and leaves the Square to go to his brother Bill's in Bristol, leaving Guido to look after the flat.

Sharon finally opens the case Den left behind, with Wicksy there for support. However she is upset to find there is nothing of any personal significance in there. Michelle tries to patch things up with Sharon. Dot overhears Pete badmouthing Donna in the Vic and lays into him with her handbag.

Julie plans for her new salon go awry when she receives a letter from the leaseholder saying they want the whole block back to turn into a 'poncey pizza parlour'. She and Paul go and view the vacant chip shop premises in Turpin Road as a plan B.

Wicksy goes for a managerial job interview with the local brewery, and tells Michelle it went very well. Doctor Legg has shocking news for Doctor Samuels that he has decided not to retire after all and will re-join him at the surgery.
